THIS year’s Great Vic Bike Ride will be run as a five-day event for the very first time, starting off in Mortlake on Monday 24 November and finishing in Camperdown on Friday 28 November.

“The new Great Vic Bike Ride will have five incredible riding days, three welcoming towns and loop rides on two of the days,” Alison McCormack, CEO of not-for-profit cycling advocacy organisation and event organiser Bicycle Network said.

“The 2025 ride features 300 kilometres of Great Ocean Road coastlines, cliffs and winding country roads – this is what bucket-list biking is all about,” she added.

Two participants looking forward to this year’s event are Mandurang South’s Luke Stewart and his 11-year-old daughter Zoe, who joined her father last year to take part in the last half of the journey.

“The Great Vic Ride has been a terrific dad and daughter experience for us,” Mr Stewart said.

“Riding with a ten-year-old, there (was) lots of encouragement from the other bike riders. It’s also a conversation starter.

“The sense of achievement from Zoe last year on days when we had ridden 80 and 75 kilometres in conditions that were hot and humid one day and cold and wet the next – I know Zoe was very proud of her efforts as was I.

“The Great Vic Bike Ride is a holiday that will provide memories for many years.”

The ride is fully catered with extensive on-route support, luggage transfers, entertainment, a medical team, bicycle repair facilities, eBike charging and more.

Entry fees are $1250 for adults, $950 for under 18s and free for children aged five or less.

Registrations can be made on the Bicycle Network website.
