WORLD renowned conjurer Elio Simonetti along with his trusty partner Eva Salleh will perform a special Seniors Festival show on Friday 18 October at the Bendigo Library.

Simonetti has wowed crowds with his neo-classical style across the globe since the late 80s, and speaking ahead of his upcoming trip to Bendigo, he described the show as lighthearted, focusing on the happiness and joy of magic.

“There’s also little bits of magic history,” he said. “Some of the stories sound made up, but they’re true, and that’s what makes them so incredible.

“I (might) talk about the creator of a particular illusion because they had very interesting lives, or sometimes the social implications of particular tricks and when they were invented, and why some tricks seem to be more enduring than others. “Seniors tend to appreciate going into the history side of things.”

He said attendees at the festival event can expect to see “something they’ve never seen before.”

“I can guarantee they will leave feeling happier and richer than when they arrived,” he said. “That’s always our aim.

“It’s been a long time since we were last in Bendigo and we’re really looking forward to it.”

Works of wonder: Sorcery for seniors takes place on Friday 18 October from 11am to 12pm at the Bendigo Library. Entry is free, but booking should be made on the Eventbrite website.
