BLOCKBUSTING stand-up comedian and television star Urzila Carlson is due to bring her current Just Jokes tour to Bendigo on 25 July, with the show at Ulumbarra Theatre pretty much a given to sell out.

The prolifically popular Carlson, a three-time winner of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s People’s Choice Award for most tickets bought, has sold out two tours of the United Kingdom and a European tour in the last twelve months.

She also saw out a season at the exclusive Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal.

“Just Jokes is as it says on the label! Just jokes!” Carlson said. “Come for a show and leave with a sore face from laughing.

“Switch off and relax!”

On TV, Carlson has appeared as a regular panellist on Network Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention?, as well as Celebrity Gogglebox Australia with Julia Morris and Nazeem Hussain.

She was a contestant in season 2 of Taskmaster New Zealand and made her UK TV debut in September last year, appearing on BBC comedy panel quiz show QI.

This year she’ll play the voice part of “a loud, confident, funny, and unconventional rhino” named Honkus in the animated film Ozi, alongside Laura Dern, Ru Paul, Amandla Stenberg, and the late Donald Sutherland.

If that ain’t enough, she has also been cast in the Netflix romantic comedy Kinda Pregnant with Amy Schumer and Damon Wyans Junior.
