STAND-up comedian and television personality Wil Anderson brings his popular Wilegitimate touring show to town tomorrow night in what’s expected to be, after several visits to Bendigo, his best and most personal appearance yet.

After beginning his comedy career in his early twenties after a stint as a journalist, the six-time Melbourne International Comedy Festival People’s Choice Award winner first came to national prominence via ABC TV’s The Glass House alongside Corinne Grant and Dave Hughes in 1999.

The year after, he became Triple J’s breakfast show co-host with Adam Spencer and went on to front advertising and media talkfest The Gruen Transfer, which went on to become one of the ABC’s highest-rating programs ever.

He has also toured internationally in the United States, United Kingdom, and New Zealand.

Wilegitimate tells the story of Wil organising a present for his Dad’s 80th birthday and unexpectedly finding out something about his father that he didn’t know.

How he found out and what he found out? All will be revealed.

“I’m excited to be able to get on the road with my largest tour in five years and perform to audiences (I’ve) missed or not yet been lucky enough to meet,” Anderson said.

“Wilegitimate is definitely about ‘something,’ and you are definitely going to love it because of ‘reasons.’

“But, who am I to tell you what those something and reasons are?

“Come along and decide for yourself.”

Weligitmate takes place tomorrow evening at Ulumbarra Theatre, with tickets available for purchase on Gotix.
