LOCAL construction company KF Building, led by well known industry veteran Kevin Walsh, has been appointed head contractor for stage one of a new $55 million business park in Rohs Road, East Bendigo.

Stage one of the park will include 17 office spaces and 24 warehousing units with construction to be overseen by Melbourne developer Prime Urban Group.

The Group’s development director Nicholas Tissot recently visited Bendigo to help ceremonially turn the first sod, and said his company was delighted to have Walsh and his team on board as construction partner.

“Kevin’s exemplary track record of delivering high-quality, large-scale projects, combined with his deep understanding of the Bendigo region, makes him the perfect fit for the development team,” he said.

“To be turning the first sod on-site just a few short months after receiving planning approval is an incredibly exciting milestone for the project.”

Mr Walsh said the project represents a significant opportunity for Bendigo’s local workforce and suppliers.

“We are excited to begin building what will become a key business hub for the region as part of this experienced development consortium,” he said.

The first phase of the development will take 12 months or thereabouts and has a net saleable area of 10,331 square metres, with the project expected to create approximately 100 full-time equivalent subcontractor jobs and engage 35 local material suppliers.

The Park is designed to exceed Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) standards by ten per cent. All office units will also feature solar integration as standard.
