A moment in time to remember: Blues Guitar Roadshow in Castlemaine

THE Blues Guitar Roadshow is set to blow the audience away when it reaches Castlemaine on Friday 31 July.

Hailed as an ensemble spectacular, the show has become one of the most exciting things to happen in the blues scene in Australia.

Offering the thrill of a music festival in one unforgettable night, The Blues Guitar Roadshow organiser and performer John McNamara is thrilled to bring the production back to the Theatre Royal.

“The Roadshow has been building towards this moment for a few years,” he said.

“I have blues powerhouse Ana Popovic coming out from the US as our headliner.

“Audiences will get to see one of the hottest blues acts from the States on stage playing alongside the best in Aus.”

The show will feature Geoff Achison going head to head with screaming Jets guitarist Jimi Hocking, plus Bendigo talent Bill Barber, and John Farnham guitarist and local Brett Garsed.

“I am thrilled that Brett is part of this,” McNamara said.

“He is one of the most gifted guitars players on the planet and the nicest guy you’ll ever meet.”

McNamara will also be performing with Andrea Marr as the McNaMarr Project.

“It’s such a team effort. The house band is world class; Angus Burchall from the John Farnham band on drums, Andrew Fry on bass and Richard Tankard on keys, plus Corey Burns from the US,” he said.

“It’s live music at it’s very best. It’s spontaneous and full of these magical one-off moments.”

The Blues Guitar Roadshow will be touring all over Australia that week with Popovic, and punters are urged to book their seat at the Theatre Royal quickly as it’s selling fast.

“My goal every time is to give people something they can’t see anywhere else,” McNamara said.

“I also run the Ballarat Blues Festival with the main event happening Sunday 15 August at the Wendouree Centre for Performing Arts.

“The entire show is full of exclusive shows and performances. This is all possible because of the simple fact that all the artists want to give people the best show possible.

“A moment in time, something to remember.”
