Golden Dragon Museum's beautiful Yi Yuan Gardens will host much of the wonderful Summer at the Museum holiday program.

GOLDEN Dragon Museum Bendigo is the place to be this summer with exhibitions, activities, workshops and talks to entertain, fascinate, engage and encourage visitors of all ages.

There is something happening every day through the Victorian summer school holidays so there is no reason not to get out, have fun and enjoy yourself!

The Way of the Flower is current from 5 December 2025 to 8 March 2026 and shows Australian artist Aleshia Ng’s recent works coming together in an exhibition full of beauty, reflection, symbolism and charm.

The Way of the Flower draws on Ng’s Chinese heritage and is inspired by traditional Chinese iconography and symbolism.

The works are executed in a restrained palette referencing two of China’s most enduring artistic traditions: ink painting (水墨画 shuĭmòhuà) and blue-and-white porcelain (青花瓷 qīnghuācí).

Viewers are invited to experience nature not just as subject matter, but as a language through which culture, memory and emotion are expressed.

Protection by Aleshia Ng is one of the beautiful works in The Way of the Flower at Golden Dragon Museum, 5 December to 8 March.

In doing so, the exhibition offers a quiet but powerful reflection on the relevance of traditional forms in contemporary art. Immediately attractive and appealing, the embedded symbolism adds a depth to the works, which gives them a gravitas that encourages deeper reflection and thought.

This is an exhibition that will attract visitors of all ages and especially those with an interest in nature and art.

Current from 20 December 2025 to 28 January 2026, Summer at the Museum presents a range of workshops, activities and talks at Golden Dragon Museum to ensure that summer is a fun time for the whole family.

From colouring for kids to Mah Jong for beginners, from painting beautiful fans to learning more about the tranquil Guan Yin Temple and its fascinating murals, Summer at the Museum offers a range of activities for all ages and all skill levels, no matter your interests.

Most of the program will be held outside in the beautiful Yi Yuan Gardens. Some are free, others have charges, but all are lots of fun and a great way to enjoy the holidays.
