BENDIGO’S Young Professionals Network will celebrate Christmas – and its twentieth anniversary – with a tram-borne dinner event on Thursday 28 November.

The two-hour celebration will feature a ride around the city with music by Josh DeAraugo, dinner onboard and drinks available for purchase. It will run from 6pm to 8pm, with the pickup location still to be finalised.

Supported by Be.Bendigo, the network was established in 2004 to provide professional networking opportunities for young and career-oriented people in their 20s and 30s.

According to Be.Bendigo, young professionals in the region are faced with unique challenges and opportunities compared to their counterparts in the major cities, so the network aims to provide informative and fun events specific to young and regional professionals from any industry.

They include social gatherings, workshops or seminars at local venues. The network is regarded as providing an excellent avenue for creating business connections and lifelong friendships for locals and those new to the region.

Bendigo’s Young Professionals Network is turning 20 and will be on the move to celebrate.

Be.Bendigo administration and projects officer Alisha Kent, who is on the network committee, said the Christmas tram night was an opportunity to combine two significant occasions into one, and was open to anyone.

“It’s open to anyone who’s young at heart, really,” she said.

But Ms Kent stressed that anyone interested would have to act quickly because tickets are limited to 38 – the number of people able to be accommodated on one of the city’s trams.

Tickets (if any remain) are $25 and can be booked through any of the network’s socials or directly at events.humanitix.com/celebrating-20-years-of-ypn-and-christmas.

Bendigo Heritage Attractions is also supporting the celebration.
