Antiques fair fundraiser for sports club

A LOCAL sports club is set to action a new idea to raise funds for ground improvements and organisational activities.

Kangaroo Flat Football Netball Club is putting on an antiques and collectibles fair and is seeking to attract sellers from across Victoria and South Australia.

Club committee member Leanne Mitchell said they’ve got over 35 vendors booked so far, and in addition, members of the ‘Roos will be selling snags with the Kangaroo Flat Cricket Club.

“Each store holder brings something different and unique,” said Ms Mitchell.

“It will go into the grounds here at the football club. We’ve just had new netball courts put in, so we are looking at a playground in the near future.”

Ms Mitchell expects an eclectic mix of things on offer, including vintage glassware, ‘man cave’ items, vintage furniture, petrol tins, bottles, hot wheels, Indigenous art, and memorabilia.

Sellers will be both professional dealers and hobbyists.

Kangaroo Flat Football Netball Club is home to about 10 junior football teams, three senior football sides, and five netball squads.

The event will be based at Bendigo Showgrounds from Saturday 29 July until Sunday 30 July. Entry is $5 for adults and kids are free.
