Find great bargains at the Bendigo Book Fair this weekend! Pre-loved books, magazines & more, all for a good cause. Don’t miss out!

BENDIGO Foodshare’s Spring Book Fair returns to the Town Hall from today and continues over the weekend, with the aim to raise more than $30,000 this time around.

The fair is held twice a year, during Easter and over the AFL grand final long weekend, and features tens of thousands of pre-loved books, magazines, records, CDs and DVDs.

Books are all sorted into categories and prices start at 50 cents for children’s books, $3 for non-fiction and $4 for novels, with collectables individually priced. Proceeds from this weekend are hoped to bring the fundraising total to over $250,000 for the charity from its book sales.

“The funds raised will help us to continue our work to provide food for 15,500 people every week across our region who are struggling to put food on the table,” Foodshare CEO Michelle Murphy said.

“Behind the scenes, our incredible volunteers work tirelessly each week of the year sorting books, with over 50 volunteers helping on Fair days, setting up venues, managing payments, restocking books and keeping everything running smoothly.”

The Fair takes place at Bendigo Town Hall today and tomorrow from 9am to 5pm and Sunday from 9am to 3pm.
