Bendigo Bank boosts executive ranks
THERE’s been movement within the highest echelons of Bendigo Bank with the announcement of several new additions to its executive team.
CEO and managing director Richard Fennell, who took over from Marnie Baker in late August, said the changes would support the company’s growth agenda while ensuring it retained its position as Australia’s most trusted bank.
“We have entered the financial year with momentum and growth on our side,” he said.
“This has been made possible by the strong foundations we have created by simplifying, modernising and digitising the bank.
“The time is right to accelerate the next phase of our development by continuing to invest in the areas that will help us deliver sustainable growth.”
Mr Fennell said the additions and reshuffle had been made “to continue meeting the evolving needs of our customers.”
The first announced change is the bank’s chief risk officer of the past six years, Taso Corolis, is taking up the chief customer officer consumer banking role, with a focus on portfolio growth and productivity.
Mr Corolis has been non-executive director of Workskil Australia and was formerly the general manager risk at Rural Bank.
Meanwhile, Sarah Bateson has shifted from her general manager marketing position to chief marketing officer to head up the new Brand, Marketing and Communications Division.
Xavier Shay has been appointed chief digital officer in addition to his role as CEO of digital offshoot Up. Mr Shay was previously director of payments engineering and analytics at Square.
