BENDIGO Kangan Institute has announced the appointment of Laura Macpherson as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Ms Macpherson formerly led TAFE Gippsland and is an elected member of the TAFE Directors Australia and Victorian TAFE Association Boards. She will take up her role on Monday 20 October.

She brings experience from her time as interim CEO at Box Hill Institute and as its executive director, strategy and corporate services, where she led major ICT and enterprise change programs.

According to Bendigo Kangan Institute, Ms Macpherson’s designation marks an exciting chapter for the organisation and its focus on driving growth, deepening community and industry partnerships, and strengthening impact across the regions served.

“Laura’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Bendigo Kangan Institute,” said board chair Sharan Burrow.

“She brings not only deep sector experience and strategic insight, but also a genuine passion for people and communities.

“We’re thrilled to welcome a leader who understands the heart of our vision and will help us grow our impact across Victoria.”

Ms Macpherson said she’s honoured to join Bendigo Kangan Institute at such a pivotal time.

“BKI has a proud legacy and a clear vision for the future,” she said.

“I’m looking forward to working alongside our dedicated teams, partners and communities to deliver skills that matter, create inclusive learning environments, and help shape the future for Victoria.”

The announcement comes in advance of current CEO Sally Curtain’s impending move to the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
