THE Bendigo Marketplace shopping centre has just marked thirty years since its construction, with celebrations to continue for the month of November.
After opening its doors in October 1995 and undergoing a major redevelopment in 2008/2009 that doubled its size, the centre is now home to major tenants Big W and Woolworths plus more than 95 specialty stores, spanning fashion, lifestyle, services, home wares, general retail, fresh food and takeaway food.
“This anniversary is a celebration of our customers who have made Bendigo Marketplace their go to destination, and the retailers who have made the centre such a welcoming and valued destination,” said centre manager Danielle Tait.
“We’re looking forward to another 30 years of working with our community to continue to provide the best possible retail experience for all”.
The centre also recently announced three finalists who are in the running to receive a $10,000 Community Kickstart Grant courtesy of its owner, property fund manager ISPT.
The shortlisted groups are Southern Cross Kids Camp, LEAD Loddon Murray and Reading Out of Poverty Inc.
The winner will be decided by public vote and community members who nominate the organisation that “resonates most deeply with (their) vision” by 9 November will go into the draw to win a $1000 gift card.
