BENDIGO TAFE has capped off a year like no other after being named Australia’s Best Training Provider at the 2025 Australian Training Awards in Darwin.
The event also recognised its justice and community services teacher Tarmi A’Vard as runner-up in Teacher of the Year, celebrating her outstanding contribution to vocational education.
Board chair Sharan Burrow AC said it is a defining moment for the institute.
“This award celebrates excellence in training, leadership and most importantly creating opportunity and impact for communities and industry,” she said.
“From pioneering new programs to investing in regional and metropolitan communities, we’re proud to be driving innovation that strengthens Australia’s workforce and economy.”
CEO Laura Macpherson said it is an incredible honour.
“(This) celebrates the expertise of our educators and staff, the drive of our students, the support of our communities and collaboration with industry partners that enables us to deliver high-impact, industry-aligned training,” she said.
“Together, we’re building pathways that change lives and power Australia’s future. We’re (also) immensely proud of Tarmi A’Vard.
“(Her) impact on students and communities is profound, and this recognition celebrates that dedication.”
Ms A’Vard said she was deeply honoured.
“This acknowledgment speaks to the impact of vocational education and the dedication of the learners, colleagues and communities I’m privileged to work alongside,” she said.
The accolades follow Bendigo TAFE’s recent win as 2025 Victorian Large Training Provider of the Year and builds on its success in 2022, when it was named Australian Training Provider of the Year for the first time.
