COMMUNITY members intending to buy, build or develop in Greater Bendigo are invited to an information session later this month that will help them understand planning basics and how to effectively research a property.
After the presentation, there will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions and hear from planning experts.
City of Greater Bendigo manager strategic planning Anthony Petherbridge promised the briefing will provide a “sound introduction” to the matters.
“The Greater Bendigo Planning Scheme controls how we use and develop land in Greater Bendigo,” he said.
“It includes state and local planning policies, zones, overlays, and other requirements that affect what can be built.
“This free session aims to demystify planning and give community members essential planning basics, including how to research a property using tools available on the City’s website.”
He said it will also highlight important services that City staff can offer.
“The tools for researching a property provide a wealth of information for landowners and prospective buyers, and this session will demonstrate how easy it is to access the information you need, when it suits you.”
As mentioned, a Q&A session will follow.
The briefing is part of a broader series, with future topics to include subdivision, building a second dwelling and understanding environmentally sustainable design.
Further details will be available online soon.
Planning 101 and Researching a Property will be held at The Capital on Thursday 19 March from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
