THE annual Bloom Spring tourism program has officially begun featuring more than ninety events and experiences across Greater Bendigo, and for the first time Loddon Shire.

This year’s highlights include a multicoloured extravaganza of 43,000 flowering tulips spread across Rosalind Park, the Conservatory Gardens, the Civic Gardens, Pall Mall and View Street, scenic wildflower walks at the Shiraz Republic in Cornella and The Bloomin Good Market across three Sundays (28 September, 26 October and 2 November).

This year heralds a new chapter with the program expanding to Loddon Shire experiences such as Kooyoora Wildflower Tours, the Loddon Valley Arts Festival from 3 to 5 October, Wedderburn Open Gardens and a host of other outings.

City of Greater Bendigo mayor Cr Andrea Metcalf said the annual Spring celebration offers something for everyone.

“From September to November, Bloom gives visitors and residents the chance to connect with natural beauty, culture, creativity and unique experiences,” she said.

“I’m thrilled that for the first time the Bloom program celebrates Loddon’s awe-inspiring nature and experiences that truly complement Greater Bendigo region’s many attractions.”

Loddon Shire mayor Cr Dan Straub also welcomed the new partnership.

“With so many unique offerings from both neighbouring shires, this partnership is a powerful step forward as we develop new destination campaigns together,” he said.

“Bloom is a taste of the exciting opportunities ahead and a fantastic way to showcase Loddon’s natural attractions and creative spirit.”

The full program and event details can be found on the Bendigo Region website.
