City launches streams of grants

The City of Greater Bendigo has announced over $700,000 in new business grants.

THE City of Greater Bendigo has announced a new grants fund for eligible businesses.

Over $700,000 is available for businesses as part of the City’s $2 million COVID-19 support package included in this year’s budget.

The grants are divided into five streams and open until Thursday, 23 September for businesses withing the municipality with an ABN.

The streams available for application include up to $2000 for planning, training and development, $5000 for a business launchpad, $10,000 for innovation and growth, $12,5000 for precinct growth and $15,000 for research and development.

Mayor Cr Dr Jennifer Alden said the City is always looking for ways to support businesses.

“This is a competitive fund open to all eligible businesses and the aim is to build capacity and capability, encourage innovation and collaboration in a challenging environment,” she said.

“Ensuring our local businesses are strong and vibrant and able to embrace innovation and creativity is the key to driving productivity and delivering more jobs.

The outcome of the applications will be announced after 15 October. And grants will need to be spent by 31 March, 2022.
