City shares priorities for state plan
THE State Government is calling for municipalities to make submissions highlighting priority projects for their communities as part of the Big Ideas for Victoria’s Future campaign.
Under Plan for Victoria consultation, City of Greater Bendigo strategy and growth planning officers are writing up a document stating what will be important to the region in the coming years.
“The City of Greater Bendigo is preparing a submission to the Plan for Victoria consultation process,” said City of Greater Bendigo director of strategy and growth, Rachel Lee.
“Our key themes for consideration include infrastructure development in line with population growth, including a focus on supporting opportunities relating to employment and education, greater advice to councils around assessing bushfire risk, encouraging the Victorian Government to take the lead on the development of flood studies, and encouraging housing development on well-located State Government-owned land.”
In the Goldfields’ south, City of Ballarat officers have also flagged housing development and housing security as priorities in the coming years.
Submissions to Big Ideas for Victoria’s Future close today, Friday 30 August, and a new plan for Victoria is expected to be released in late-2024.
