Clubs get road safety grants
THREE Bendigo region football netball clubs have been awarded grants by the State Government for their road safety efforts.
Golden Square, Marong and Colbinabbin FNCs all received thousands of dollars from the Transport Accident Commission for “showing their commitment to eliminating death and serious injuries on our roads, throughout the 2022 season.”
“Local sporting clubs are the backbone of the community, and the TAC Club Rewards program is another great initiative that incentivises clubs to spread an important message and influence change,” said Minister for Roads and Road Safety, Ben Carroll.
“We are proud to support the long-standing partnership between the TAC and AFL Victoria, which provides a platform to educate hundreds of thousands of Victorians on road safety issues through local sport.”
The Bulldogs were allocated $7500 from the scheme and will use the money responsible service of alcohol and first aid courses and an upgraded scoreboard at Furlife Oval.
The LVNL premiership winning Panthers, are set for new uniforms and updated facilities with a $5000 grant.
Lastly Colbinabbin FNC is also getting $5000 that will be used on new uniforms as well as a ‘how safe is your car’ day.
