Community hub under construction

BENDIGO is one of regional Victoria’s ideal locations for those wanting to live a quiet country life in their retirement, but with all the benefits of the city.

Just 15 minutes west of town in Marong, Bendigo Lifestyle Village aims to offer that lifestyle for people over the age of 55, with a sense of community and in a relaxing, modern environment.

Residents recently got the exciting news that the footings of their new community centre were being dug.

 

Designed to be a hub for social meet-ups and resident gatherings, the centre will have break-out spaces for resident’s hobbies and activities. “We’ve been very happy with our new home and the friendships we’ve formed,” said resident Julie. “The supportive community has made settling in seamless, and we’re looking forward to the soon-to-be-completed community centre, which will provide even more opportunities to connect with our neighbours and enjoy social activities.”

The village is a gated community near to Marong Golf Club, bowls and tennis clubs, the Marong and District Men’s Shed, Marong Medical Practice, and other businesses including the Marong Hotel, Elmore Bakery, general store and post office.

“Low-maintenance living allows residents to focus on their interests and wellbeing,” said managing director Justin Morris.

Bendigo Lifestyle Village has site tours on Wednesdays between 11am and 1pm. It is located at 1449 Calder Hwy, Marong, adjacent to the award-winning Bendigo Marong BIG4 Holiday Park.
