A TOURNAMENT with a difference is coming to Quarry Hill tomorrow with the Disc Golf Central Vic Classic being held over two rounds. It’s the seventh stop on the 2023 Victorian Disc Golf Tour and a full roster of 72 players across several divisions has been confirmed.

The championship will be played under the Professional Disc Golf Association’s Official Rules of Disc Golf.

Bendigo Disc Golf founder Jackson Adams encouraged people to go along to see some discs flying through the air.

“It’s something a bit different for people to come and have a look at,” he said.

“It’s pretty amazing how far some of these people can throw the disc and the sorts of shapes that they can make the disc go in is pretty wild.”

Outside of the tournament, locals can also try their hand on the Quarry Hill course nine basket course.

“The golf club has discs that people can hire and I’m pretty sure they still have starter packs for sale,” Mr Jackson said.

“It’s not an easy sport, but it’s a simple sport that people take seriously and can get really good at. It’s all about timing, otherwise the disc will go nowhere.

“Plus, it’s something you can do socially and just get out and walk around.”

Catch the Disc Golf Central Vic Classic tomorrow at Quarry Hill Golf Club in Houston Street from 8am.

Further information about playing disc golf socially can be found on the Quarry Hill Golf Club website.
