Crafty quilters’ wonderful wares
ALL the colours of the rainbow, and more, emblazoned upon a sea of quilts will set the scene for this year’s Bendigo & District Quilters Quilt Exhibition.
Heald at St Andrews Hall on Myers Street, Exhibition committee member Jane Leahy said preparations are well on track for the event after “many hours of planning work.”
“We are most delighted to be able to finally stage our biennial exhibition in 2022 as a long time participant in the Easter Fair,” she said.
“St Andrews hall will be festooned with over 100 large and small quilts. There is always a huge variety of inspiring quilt designs and diverse techniques on show, both modern and traditional. Attendees are encouraged to vote for the Viewer’s Choice Awards.”
“Attendees are usually a very loyal local audience as well as return visitors and arts/craft lovers who visit Bendigo at Easter specifically to view our exhibition.
“We are very highly regarded on the quilt and handcrafts circuit for the quality of our work and our display.”
Formerly known as Strathdale Quilters, the Bendigo & District Quilters was established in 1990 and has over 80 members from Bendigo and surrounds.
The club meets every Thursday from 10am to 9pm at the Long Gully Community Centre in Havilah Road.
The Quilt Exhibition takes place from Friday, 15 April to Monday, 18 April at St Andrews Hall, Myers Street, Bendigo.
