COMMUNITY members are invited to the opening night of Strathfieldsaye Primary School’s Community Arts Festival, which takes place this Friday, 14 October, featuring special guest, Mayor Cr Andrea Metcalf.

Themed ‘Dreaming with eyes open’, the festival will conclude tomorrow with a range of activities for families to participate in, three student and community art exhibitions, market stalls and food, as well as workshops and musical performances.

The three art exhibitions are student works completed during art class, an additional competitive school student art show, and a community art exhibition.

Multiple workshops to be held on the day will include paste ups with Mr Dimples, paint a pot with Sarah The Painter, acrylic on canvas with Nadee, as well as watercolour painting with Stacey and bookings are essential for all events.

Principal Cindi Bruechert said the school had pulled together well to arrange the program for the weekend.

“Our Community Arts Festival is an opportunity for everyone to see, experience and immerse themselves in fabulous art, imagination and fun,” she said.

“We invite our school families and everyone in the community to attend the weekend.

“Funds raised from the festival go directly to the school, supporting the establishment of a creative learning hub offering arts, music and STEM.

“This ensures that our students are equipped with the best possible teaching and learning opportunities.”
