THE district’s food producers are encouraged to sign up to the City of Greater Bendigo’s online City and Region of Gastronomy directory.

An avenue to promote local businesses, the new catalogue will differ from the pre-existing Gastronomy Guide, originally established to support tourism, and food businesses dealing directly with customers.

City of Greater Bendigo’s director of strategy and growth Bernie O’Sullivan emphasised the area’s independent and diverse food and drink producers.

“The local producers directory is a great opportunity for producers in the region to showcase their produce to potential wholesale, retail, café, restaurant and business customers, as well as direct to consumers,” he said.

“One of the reasons we were named a City and Region of Gastronomy is because so much wonderful food and drink is produced locally.

“This directory will give producers the opportunity to connect with more customers, businesses or individuals, and create a comprehensive listing of all the food and drink that is made and grown here.”

Businesses can sign up to the directory for free. Visit bendigogastronomy.com.au/local-producers, supply some information and relevant photographs.

Access the City and Region of Gastronomy newsletter, which will also have directory launch updates at bit.ly/2NStx1q.
