Directory showcases local businesses

A NEW directory has been launched by Be.Bendigo with the aim of giving local businesses the opportunity to develop their online presence.

Marketing and member coordinator at Be.Bendigo, Tiffany Gil, said it took months of work to put the project together and she’s happy to see the website go live.

“It’s been amazing to work on this project and showcase all the different types of businesses in Bendigo,” she said.

Ms Gil said the directory gave an overview of Be.Bendigo’s diverse member base and featured large organisation as well as small to medium businesses, entrepreneurs, and start-ups.

“It’s really important for the chamber to be able to showcase members and be able to tell their story as well, and to show our local community who is Be.Bendigo and who are the members,” she said.

The platform was designed to be user friendly and accessible, but the main aim of the project is to provide businesses with new avenues for promotion and connection.

Be.Bendigo members could benefit from networking and collaboration opportunities on the platform, which Ms Gil said she hopes will lead to mutual growth and expansion.

The directory is searchable by industry to enable community members to discover and back local businesses.

“There are a lot of new, small businesses in Bendigo and it’s a way for us to support them,” Ms Gil said.

“We can provide them with exposure on this platform to establish themselves in the local market.”

An added benefit for Be.Bendigo is the opportunity the platform provides for them to be transparent about their supporter base.

“This is the way for us to treasure it and to say these are our members, these are our partners, this is who is supporting the chamber of commerce,” Ms Gil said.
