Display homes take out regional awards

HOUSE builder Metricon has won two northern Victoria awards for display properties in Strathfieldsaye.

Its Amira 28BP and the Chelsea 33 won the Best Volume Builder Display Home ($400,000 to $500,000) and Best Volume Builder Display Home (Over $800,000) respectively at the recent HIA Northern Victoria Housing Awards.

The awards celebrate excellence in home design and building, and provide a platform for industry recognition. The 2024 instalment was held at The Sebel Yarrawonga Silverwoods late last month.

“Winning two awards for the Chelsea 33 and Amira 28BP is a tremendous honour,” Metricon’s regional housing Victoria general manager Phil Barrett said.

“These victories highlight the dedication of our local trades and suppliers in delivering exceptional homes to our customers.

“The Chelsea 33 offers an instant wow factor, while the Amira 28BP is packed with features for modern family living.

“Both homes set a new benchmark in volume building design.”

The Amira 28BP is single level home with a 28-square open plan layout that is said to maximise space and flexibility, and is targeted at families.

It has a private master suite at the front and three other bedrooms at the rear. Its kitchen has a two-way walk-in pantry and a study nook is integrated into the open plan living area.

Elevated ceilings in the family and dining areas allow plenty of natural light, creating what Metricon describes as an airy, grand atmosphere.

The Chelsea 33, part of Metricon’s Designer range, features a Cascade facade, a blend of modern farmhouse aesthetics and grand architectural elements.

The master bedroom at the rear of the property includes a dressing table nook and French doors that open on to a private verandah.

A statement from Metricon said the interior design “exudes warmth, combining countryside charm with contemporary elegance.”

Both houses are located at Metricon’s display centre in Imagine Drive, Strathfieldsaye.
