ONE of Australia’s most sought-after drag queens will be sashaying into town this May.

Set for The Capital, the All-Drag Revue is headlined by Prada Clutch and she’s encouraging everyone come check out the show.

“I know the world can be a bit of a crazy place,” she said.

“So for people to be able to just come, relax, have a laugh, have a sing, have a dance, and forget all their troubles, I just think it’s such a great way for people to do that.

“For all of us in the show, it’s a great way for us to show what we do and release wonderful, glittery, fabulously sparkling costumes to the world.”

Clutch said drag is an incredible form of expression and that freedom is one of the reasons she loves the artform.

“I think drag is something that is growing and changing and evolving a lot in our community and in the public eye big-time,” she said.

All-Drag Revue includes inspiration from the legendary Sydney-based drag show Les Girls, and is directed by Monique Kelly, one of the original cast members.

Clutch said she was excited to be working Kelly.

“When she said she wanted to help, it was just like, ‘Okay, yes definitely’, I’m going to be a sponge and listen to everything,” Clutch said.

“I want to do the best show with the most incredible costumes. I want people to look at that and go ‘Wow!’ and ‘How?’ and she knows exactly how to do that.

“It’s just fabulous to hang onto the old glamour of drag and reinvent it in modern ways.

“We’re so blessed really to have her working on our show.”

Clutch said the regions bring something special, and is looking forward to performing in the City.

“We had an 11-year-old boy come out and he was all in drag,” she said. “His 13-year-old brother dressed up in drag as well to make him feel comfortable.

“His parents were there and were like, ‘You, know it’s what he loves, so we’re not stopping him’.

“I’m just like, ‘Wow, that’s incredible’, and we were in regional, regional Victoria.

“Bendigo’s going to be a hoot. We can’t wait to do that!”

The All-Drag Revue takes to the stage at The Capital on 12 May.
