IRRIGATION utility provider, Goulburn-Murray Water has released its price list for the next financial year, outlining the fees expected to be passed on to consumers.

A typical irrigation water customer bill is expected to increase by two to six per cent which is below predicted the consumer price index rate of seven per cent.

GMW’s business and finance general manager Michael Gomez said the organisation was happy to keep the increase lower than the CPI.

“It’s the second consecutive year that our prices have risen below the CPI,” he said. “Which is good news for our customers.

“As a non-profit organisation, our pricing is structured to recover the costs of the services and are a valuable tool for customers looking to plan ahead.

“We go to great lengths to ensure we are operating efficiently as a business, so it’s encouraging to see the efforts translate to the prices we offer.”

Mr Gomez said the low operating costs were due to GMW’s 2020-24 pricing submission.

“The stability in our prices is the result of the last four years of work,” he said.

Irrigation water customers can expect to receive their 2023/24 fixed charges bill sometime in July or August.
