Fatal crash claims life in Castlemaine
Police are investigating a fatal crash in Castlemaine after a vehicle left the road and crashed during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called to Langslow Street about 1.35am following reports that a car had left the roadway and crashed.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene.
Victoria Police said the man is yet to be formally identified.
Investigators are now working to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The incident adds to Victoria’s road toll, with police continuing to urge motorists to take care on the state’s roads.
Anyone who witnessed the crash, has dashcam footage, CCTV footage, or any information that may assist investigators is being urged to come forward.
