THE program for the Bendigo Writers Festival 2025 has been released with over sixty events taking place over the weekend of Friday 15 to Sunday 17 August.

This year’s festival will fuse and celebrate gastronomy and storytelling, with more than 80 writers and speakers participating.

One particular standout on the program is popular Melbourne foodspot Chin Chin’s takeover of Ms Batterhams, where the restaurant’s executive chef Benjamin Cooper will also host a Q&A session inspired by its latest cookbook, Still Hungry.

Another must-see will be Ben Shewry offering his perspective on the highs and lows of running his two-hatted fine dining restaurant Attica.

Helly Raichura, chef and owner of Enter Via Laundry, will also share her journey from human resources professional to Indian fine-dining restauranteur, while Jennifer Wong, comedian and host of the ABC’s Chopsticks or Fork? will explore food, culture, and mental health through the lens of Australia’s regional Chinese restaurants.

Bendigo Venues and Events manager Julie Amos said there will be something for everyone on offer across the three days.

“Over one action-packed weekend in August, the festival brings together diverse voices through discussions that spark ideas, conversation, and inspiration,” she said.

“With a strong focus on literacy, lifelong learning, and cultural diversity, the festival is a must-attend event for book lovers and curious minds from Bendigo, Victoria, and beyond.”

Most sessions will be priced at $16, with many free events and select premium sessions as well.
