Find yourself at the biggest Lost Trades Fair ever
THE Lost Trades Fair is coming back to town and it’s promising to be the biggest yet with the event a celebration of skill and craft from a bygone era.
Blacksmiths, woodworkers, weavers, spinners and tailors will all be attendance, among a number of other old school craftsmen and women.
“We are 10 years old this year and we have over 150 artists coming in, closer to 180,” said organiser Lisa Rundell. “It’s certainly our biggest showpiece of artists ever.
“We are hoping to get crowds back to pre-pandemic levels, back up to 20,000 and ticket sales are tracking well and truly to hit that. Tickets have been sold to every state.”
Ms Rundell said it’s the collection of many different trades in one area that appeals to attendees.
“There is something for everyone, as opposed to a black smithing festival, or wood working show, or a quilting expo,” she said.
“We have it all in the one spot. We will have lace making as well as power hammers all in the one event.”
And it’s not just old-world charm, Ms Rundell said there are more than just vintage crafts and skills being shown.
“We have other exciting things on offer as well,” she said. “There are continual demonstrations all day and continual music program as well as great food.
“There is lots of stuff even for your little tradies, under-fives can go on a little tradies treasure hunt.”
The Lost Trades Fair is set for the Bendigo Jockey Club on Saturday, 11 and Sunday, 12 March with tickets on sale via trybooking.com.
