Over two thousand, five hundred people are expected to run and walk through the streets of the CBD to raise funds for Bendigo Health as part of the 2025 Bendigo Ford Fun Run on Sunday 2 March.

Entries are now open for all categories, which in 2025 will include a new three-kilometre short course and a timed hill climb from the Rosalind Park rotunda to the base of the nearby poppet head.

Event director Geoff O’Sullivan said next year’s race is shaping up to be the biggest yet after participation has steadily increased over its four-year history.

“We saw 1948 runners of all ages join the event earlier this year and we are looking to increase that number,” he said.

“With the addition of new events and changes to the direction of the course, we know this will appeal to many past participants and people new to our event and even those new to running.”

Acting director of Bendigo Health Fundraising and Foundation Carlie Ryan said she was thrilled that the proceeds from the fun run will be donated to Bendigo Health.

“(This year) we’ve worked closely with (organisers) Geoff and Nigel to provide more choice to participants on how their funds are directed,” she said.

“People will be able to choose to support Cancer Services, the Cardiology department, Children’s Ward, or Mental Health services or even direct funds to wherever they are most needed within the health service.”
