BULL Street will come to life this Easter with the return of the major street music festival.

Owner operator of the Metropolitan Hotel and event organiser Andrew Lethlean said this year’s street party is “probably bigger and better than ever before.”

“It’s probably the first time in two years we’ve really had the full street open, so we’re back to some sort of normality,” he said.

“We’re expecting much bigger crowds, it’s all ticketed so we can keep control of the numbers as well. We’ll have bigger numbers than we’ve had before so it’s exciting for us.”

This year’s line-up over Good Friday and Easter Saturday and Sunday includes a wide range of music and genres, from DJs to 80s to a special tribute.

“Our market ranges from anyone 18 through to 70 so we’re catering for the young ones on Friday night, headlined by Tigerlily and we’ve got some big pulling DJs like Bread Gang, Ebony Grayce, and Jesse James,” Mr Lethlean said.

Old school rockers Brian Mannix, Scott Carnes and Sean Kelly will bring their Absolutely 80s show on the Saturday night, supported by local artists and bands, and the weekend will be rounded out on Sunday night with an ABBA tribute band.

“We always finale with our biggest and best tributes, and ABBA’s one that just makes everyone happy,” Mr Lethlean said.

“It’s a band everyone loves whether you’re young or old and they’re supported by a heap of local bands.”

Almost all of Bull Street will be open for the music festival and Mr Lethlean is expecting about 3000 people to turn out.

“These events are imperative for our hospitality businesses long-term survival and hopefully the return to more normal after Easter,” he said. “It’s going to be a huge festival.”
