Ghost hunting on View Street
TAKE a trip back in time and experience the spooky side of life with Twisted History’s Bendigo Ghost Tours.
Every Saturday night scare enthusiasts can embark on a guided tour of the town’s haunted past and scariest stories.
The tour starts at the Visitor Information Centre and heads through Rosalind Park with about 20 different tales based on urban legends, myths and ghost sightings.
Twisted History director Deb Robinson said there had been a lot of interest in a ghost tour of Bendigo.
“It kept coming up that people were asking for local ghost tours because there wasn’t really anything like that in the region,” she said.
“Our stories are all based in real history, our characters try and take on real people and our stories are based on real things that have happened, usually reported in the newspaper on the day.”
The tour starts at the Visitor Information Centre and heads through Rosaline Park with about 20 different stories based on urban legends, myths and hauntings.
“Bendigo seems to have a lot of ghost stories, there’s a connection back to the courts and that has something to do with the spiritual energy,” Ms Robinson said.
“Some of the most infamous hauntings in Bendigo would be in Fortuna Villa, there’s quite a number of ghosts attached to that.”
Twisted History host a number of regional spooky tours, including the Geelong Gaol Tour and the Castlemaine Cemetery Tour.
“As much as it’s a ghost tour it’s also all about talking about the funky history and the darker side of history,” Ms Robinson said.
The tour takes place every Saturday at 8pm and tickets can be booked online at twistedhistory.net.au.
