BASKETBALL wizardry will take over Red Energy Stadium on Sunday, 10 July as the Harlem Globetrotters bring their highly anticipated Spread Game world tour to Bendigo.

The tour promises an unforgettable night of impossible shot-making, rim rattling dunks and plenty of laughs as the Globetrotters take on historic rivals the Washington Generals, with ner fan experiences.

For Jahmani Swanson, known as Hot Shot, it will be his first time in Australia and the team’s first time on Aussie courts for three years.

“Everybody knows Australia goes crazy over basketball,” he said. “I never been to Australia, but I have a lot of fans there from my videos over the years.

“My fans have been dying to meet me, I’ve chatted to so many and now the opportunity to go over there is a dream come true.”

At four-foot-five Swanson is the shortest Globetrotter of all time and has gone viral on social media through videos showing his speed, agility and ball handling.

He said his favourite part about being part of the team is inspiring people across the world, and helping children deal with bullying and celebrate their differences.

“I went through adversity, I still face adversity and I overcome it every day,” he said.  “For people born different or look different, they’re inspired by me. I feel like a superhero.”

Swanson said the Spread Game tour will bring “something people have never seen before” and the team can’t wait to hit the court.

“Australia’s going to go crazy,” he said. “We love Australia, we’ve been talking about it since last September when we found out that we were going.”

Bendigo tickets are currently 85 per cent sold, head to harlemglobetrotters.com/world-tour/schedule to secure a seat.
