Good Vibration, sweet sensation
LOCAL radio presenter, Benjamin Ato Sam has just released his second Good Vibration African Cookbook.
Formerly running a vegetarian restaurant in Ghana, Sam has taken a “healthy choice” approach in his latest recipe publication, which offers even more than the first book.
“This book is bigger, has interesting and amazing African stories in it, and more native cuisine,” he said.
“Healthy recipes are part of a healthy lifestyle. The book includes healthy drinks, like smoothies, that benefit our bodies, as well as an inspiring collection of traditional West African main meals and stories.
“I hope people enjoy cooking our West African cuisine and immerse themselves into the culture.”
Sam is proud of himself for publishing two books within one year and is “impressed” by the reach of Good Vibration, stocked at bookstores and visitor centres all over the state, and across the country.
“The first book went really well. It’s in Bendigo, Ballarat, Sydney, Adelaide, the Northern Territory, and Tasmania.
“People that bought the first book will notice the second book is very different. There is more of myself, my country, my food and stories in this second book,” he said.
“I’ve had great feedback. The bookshops can’t wait to have it in store.”
Sam moved to Victoria in 2008, and has always loved connecting with people of diverse backgrounds.
Wanting to share his African culture, and recipes, with as many people as possible, he decided to write his first instalment of the Good Vibration series in 2020, named after his Saturday afternoon radio show on Phoenix FM.
