THE Sydney Hotshots are coming to Bendigo this September to get down and dirty with their high energy dance routines.

Tom Carey, construction worker by day, Hotshot dancer by night, said he is looking forward to showing the ladies of Bendigo a good time.

For Carey, Hotshots is more than a striptease, it’s an opportunity to express himself.

“There is the common misconception that it’s just a bunch of blokes getting our kits off, you know grinding and etcetera and so forth but for me it’s really about the expression of myself through dance,” he said.

“A lot of my personal routines are part of my experiences through life as well.”

The dance routines were created by professional choreographers and the dancers work together to perfect them.

“It’s a very intense creative process,” Carey said, “we have a bunch of choreographers that we work with and we’ll pick up different styles, different dances, different types of expressing ourselves from them.”

Carey said the most enjoyable part of the show for him is the ‘hand jive’ routine, which involves audience participation.

“We get a bunch of girls up on stage and we teach them the dance and then we all rock it out together,” he said.

The two-hour show is embarking on a national tour and will be in Bendigo at the McIvor Hotel for a one-night stand on Saturday 16 September.
