Welcome to the first edition of the Bendigo Times. We’re proud to be launching the city’s newest free weekly community newspaper.

It’s a privilege to serve this wonderful city and we look forward to telling your stories with respect and diligence.

As a publication of the Times News Group, our focus at the Bendigo Times is on all the things that are great about where we live.

Whether it’s the people working hard to make our community a better place, the groups who make a meaningful difference, the events that bring us together, or that hidden gem just waiting in the wings and ready for the spotlight, we’re here to tell those stories.

We also aim to provide the news and information you need to make important decisions in your life, without comment, opinion, or an agenda.

The activities of local, State and Federal government, as well as other key community organisations, are important because they affect all of us, so those issues are important to us. What decisions are council making? What are our local MPs up too? We’ll find out and let you know.

What we don’t do is jam out feet in people’s doors, chase ambulances, or intrude on grief. We know there’s a better way to find news and tell stories.

The Bendigo Times always welcomes your input and suggestions on any element of our paper.

If you’ve got something going on, think there’s a story we could be telling, or something we could have done better, let us know. You can email all that and more to [email protected].

Now here’s the best part – all the Bendigo Times content is free and can be accessed in a way that suits you.

You can pick up a copy of the paper from over 75 locations around the city every Thursday, and we’ll be adding more as we grow.

Our website, bendigotimes.com.au, has a full digital copy available – as well as back editions, and we’ll also publish most content there in the form of easily accessible web stories.

At bendigotimes.com.au you’ll also find the latest news from across the region and state, and we have a partnership with the Australian Associated Press. That means we’re able to harness the resources of both the Times News Group’s extensive network across central and western Victoria, as well as AAP’s respected reporting team.

While visiting our website you can also sign up for free home delivery. Just pop in your details and every Thursday morning a copy of the Bendigo Times will be delivered to your address. It’s that simple.

We welcome your connection with us on social media, you can find us on Facebook at Bendigo Times and on Instagram @bendigotimes.

Lastly, thank you for reading the Bendigo Times, and we look forward to a wonderful future together.
