Interest open for business program
BENDIGO entrepreneurs are being encouraged to take part in a local program aimed at boosting emerging businesses.
The Accelerator Program is an offering of Startup Central Victoria, an initiative led by the City of Greater Bendigo in partnership with nearby municipalities.
Expressions of interest are now open to take part in round two of the program, starting in February, for individuals or teams over the age of 18.
The City’s director of strategy and growth Steve Hamilton said 15 places were up for grabs for the program, which includes 12 sessions all available for free to central Victorian residents.
“This program brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise for participants with three learning streams open to individuals and teams supported by experts, coaches and mentors,” he said.
The three streams, known as discovery, development and advanced, are designed to cater to businesses in varied stages of progress from an early phases idea to ones ready to break out into international markets.
The sessions will run in the evenings until late May, led by La Trobe Innovation and Entrepreneurship and their international partners.
Emma Gibbons joined the first round of the program in October this year to build on her idea to create weekend retreats for local women.
“I’m so excited. I can’t believe how much I’ve progressed my business idea,” she said. “I am really enjoying the sessions, they are so informative.”
