AN inspiring evening celebrating women’s leadership, resilience and achievement in the form of the Zonta Club of Bendigo International Women’s Day Dinner will be a must-not-miss affair early next month.

The signature Zonta Bendigo event brings together professionals, community leaders and supporters who are passionate about advancing the status of women and is a highlight of the local IWD calendar.

The special guest of the evening will be Diana Williams, owner and founder of Fernwood Fitness.

On the night she’ll share her personal journey, leadership insights and reflections on building a purpose-driven organisation with national impact.

Event coordinator Raelene Schmidt said over the years Zonta has hosted a number of excellent speakers and Ms Williams won’t be any different.

“We’re very excited to have her come and speak to us, seeing as how Fernwood was founded in Bendigo,” she said.

Another highlight of the night will be the presentation of a special Women of Achievement Award – Emergency Services & First Responders, in response to the role women have played in recent bushfire and emergency events across the region.

“Given the difficulties over the last few months, we thought it was a good idea to award a suitable applicant,” Ms Schmidt said.

“It has to be a woman, obviously, a volunteer or an employed person who’s made a significant contribution to the organisation that they participate in over a lengthy period of time.

“It’ll be a well-deserved award and I think that’s going to be a great moment.”

The Zonta Club of Bendigo International Women’s Day Dinner takes place on Tuesday 3 March at the All Seasons Conservatory.

Tickets, which include a two-course meal and complimentary orange juice or sparkling wine on arrival, are available at Gotix.
