JOB seekers will have the chance to learn about vacancies at some of Bendigo’s largest companies at an upcoming employment fair.

The Bendigo Jobs Expo is an opportunity for exhibitors to showcase the employment opportunities and connect with future workers.

Goldfields LLEN will also be in attendance to demonstrate the organisation’s jobs portal, which lists vacancies in the Greater Bendigo regions and further afield in Victoria.

Last year the event welcomed 300 people through the doors, a turn out Rob Herbert CEO of Be.Bendigo said he’s hopeful will repeat.

“I think the actual opportunity to walk away with an offer is very real as part of these events, and I think that’s the most powerful thing of all at these expos,” he said.

According to Mr Herbert, attendees at the event will be able to speak with employers and make serious enquiries about securing a position.

“These are legitimate jobs that are on offer,” he said.

The expo is being held in partnership with several stakeholders including Workforce Australia and Be.Bendigo and job seekers of any age or experience level are welcome.

“Sometimes it’s a little bit about trying to reach different audiences, how do you do that?” Mr Herbert said.

“It’s that constant challenge of trying to get that message out there about these types of events so we can capture as broad an audience as possible,” he said.

Exhibits from up to 30 employers will feature at the one-day event, however final names and numbers are still being confirmed by organisers.

Registrations will open soon to job seekers who are interested in seeing what work is available in the region.

The Bendigo jobs expo will be held at Town Hall on 6 of September.
