Magic returns to town
WORLD-famous magician, illusionist, and escape artist Cosentino is set to return to the stage at Ulumbarra Theatre on Thursday, 28 April with his exciting new show Deception.
The performer is once again aiming to astonish audiences with his trademark mix of dance and magic in a 90-minute show of death-defying escapes, street magic and stage illusions.
“What makes our show unique is the blend of everything,” Cosentino said.
“It creates a very rounded show that’s got broad appeal, and so that’s how I write my shows, because the audience ranges from five to literally 75. The core demographic is very broad.”
Cosentino became a sensation after his long run on Australia’s Got Talent in 2011.
Having developed a passion for magic at a young age, he is now recognised globally as Australia’s most successful magician.
“Sometimes as performers we can get caught up in technique, we can get caught up in methods, but at the end of the day it’s about how you move an audience,” he said.
After months of doing his routines online, Cosentino said it’s a relief to finally be back performing live.
He also said having a personal, interactive experience in the audience is a core element of his shows, which are around 50 per cent crowd participation.
“It changes the entire game and you do get blown away,” he said.
“I’m excited to come back to Victoria, that I’m able to do what I love, and I hope that people will create wonderful memories with me. I can’t wait.”
