Local CFA ready for open day
IF you’re keen to learn more about what the CFA and other volunteer emergency services do, and how they help the community, Maiden Gully Fire Brigade has an opportunity for you.
Set for Sunday at the brigade’s Beckhams Road fire station, the event will be the first time Maiden Gully CFA has been able to hold their open day in two years.
There are heaps of activities on offer and along with the local fire trucks and equipment, Fire Rescue Victoria will be bringing a 37-metre-tall ladder platform truck while Marong SES are set to drop by with their vehicles and equipment.
For the kids, Captain Koala and Paddy Platypus will be stopping by, and the little red fire truck or the mini SES truck are rolling up for great photo opportunities.
You can also grab a snag while you chat to CFA volunteers about getting fire-ready for summer.
“We would like to see whole families drop in to enjoy a free sausage sizzle, have some fun learning about fire safety and find out how you could become an emergency services volunteer,” said Maiden Gully CFA Captain Peter Dole.
The brigade’s open day runs from 10am to 1pm on Sunday, 6 November at the fire station, 5 Beckhams Road, Maiden Gully.
