Making things better, one slice at a time

LINDSAY and Jason Tod are more than just Domino’s franchisees.

The couple were recognised earlier this month with the company’s Leadership Eagle award, one of Domino’s most prestigious awards across Australia and New Zealand.

The award celebrates those within the company who consistently demonstrate outstanding leadership and operational excellence all year around.

Ms Tod said receiving the award was a huge recognition.

“It’s recognised for leadership and showing integrity and working with purpose and vision, not just in your own business but in a broader Domino’s community,” she said.

“It’s not like we go out with that in mind, but it’s something we just do by taking those opportunities and it’s pretty awesome to get recognised for the work that you do.”

Mr and Ms Tod have a shared 17 years of experience in Domino’s and own six stores across regional Victoria, in Warrnambool, Ballarat and Bendigo.

The franchisees run regular Doughraisers, raising funds for people, schools and charities in need in the community.

“We like to be able to give back to the community, one of our goals as franchisees is to be able to give back to the community that supports us,” Mr Tod said.

Ms Tod said they especially wanted to give back during COVID-19 lockdowns.

“Being able to help people out always is one of our values,” she said. “We partner with local homeless shelters and donate pizzas there; we also support lots of sporting clubs and small charity events.

“We’re always open to supporting the community and there’s lots of ways we do that.”

The couple donated close to a thousand pizzas through their Lockdown Legends program last year, supporting people doing it tough through the pandemic.

“We’re not just Domino’s, we’re small business owners as well, we live locally we grew up here we just love being able to help people out where we can, COVID or no COVID,” Ms Tod said.

Mr Tod encourages members of the community to look at Doughraisers opportunities.

“I’d really like to invite people who have particular Doughraisers for a person or organisation that they’d like to do to come and have a chat with us,” he said.

“We want to continue to give back to the community where we can.”
