ADVOCACY and industry development organisation the Bendigo Regional Manufacturers Group (BRMG) will now operate under the umbrella of Be.Bendigo.
Since 2001 BRMG has championed Bendigo’s manufacturing sector, focusing on infrastructure investment, workforce capability and environmental considerations, while forging ties with education providers at the same time.
Be.Bendigo CEO Hayley Tibbett said the transition reflects a shared commitment to collaboration and long-term sustainability.
“Manufacturing is a critical pillar of Bendigo’s economy, and it’s vital that the sector has a strong, united voice,” she said.
“Bringing BRMG into Be.Bendigo ensures manufacturers remain well connected, well represented and well supported – not just within the sector, but across the broader business community.”
Outgoing BRMG chair Paul Chapman said the development positions the group for continued growth and influence.
“A vibrant manufacturing base underpins all prosperous economies around the world,” he said.
“The BRMG wholeheartedly and optimistically supports the transition into Be.Bendigo and, together, further strengthening the region’s reputation as a world-class and globally recognised innovative manufacturing sector, while creating even more local employment opportunities.”
Under the new arrangement, Be.Bendigo will provide coordination, governance and advocacy support.
Ms Tibbett said supporting sector-specific groups was central to her organisation’s approach.
“Our role is to help ensure local industry has a seat at the table, a clear voice, and the support needed to influence decisions that affect their future,” she said.
BRMG will continue to meet separately, with a refreshed program of engagement and advocacy planned for 2026.
