Medico to be face of show
ORGANISERS of the Bendigo Agricultural Show have announced the ambassador for this year’s event, with Dr Skye Kinder to represent the annual celebration of all things regional and rural.
A mental health clinician, Dr Kinder is a former Bendigo Young Citizen of the Year, Victorian Junior Doctor of the Year, and finalist in the Australian and New Zealand Junior Doctor of the Year awards.
She was also 2019 Young Victorian of the Year and subsequently nominated for the Young Australian of the Year.
Along with championing volunteering, charity work and advocacy on a range of issues, Dr Kinder was named on the Australian Financial Review’s 100 Women of Influence list and the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.
Bendigo Agricultural Show Society executive officer Ian Furze said securing Dr Kinder to represent the event, which is returning for the first time since 2019, was a coup.
“The show society is extremely pleased to have such a highly renowned person in Dr Skye Kinder as our 2022 Show Ambassador,” Mr Furze said.
“Skye is a show enthusiast and will be involved in many aspects of the show, including the Rural and Junior Show Ambassador competitions plus rural and mental health information stations during the Show.”
