A NEW monthly artificial intelligence innovation meetup initiative kicks off at the Emporium Creative Hub next month, featuring talks from AI thinkers and makers, live concept testing, open discussion and informal networking.
It’s hoped that the regular sessions will attract curious minds to test ideas, spark collaborations and see what AI can do when it’s put to work on local challenges.
Delivered by the Rural Health Innovation Lab at La Trobe University, Monash Rural Health, Emporium Creative Hub, Ligantic and Bendigo Tech School, the series will create a space where technologists, business owners, educators and researchers can experiment, learn and build together.
Dr Brad Hodge, director of the Rural Health Innovation Lab, said it’s about showing what’s possible when regional communities take the lead in shaping how the technology is used.
“Bendigo has the skills and interest already, we’re just creating the space for people to come together and collaborate,” he said.
Nerida Firman, manager at Monash Rural Health’s North West Victoria Regional Training Hub said the meetups offer a chance to move past uncertainty.
“Explore the incredible potential that emerges when passionate, like-minded individuals come together,” she said.
Ligantic Co-Founder and CEO Stef Cola said the monthly events are about bringing people together to team up on the possibilities of AI.
“(It) opens up new opportunities for achieving great things in business, health, education, and in tackling real-world problems – but only if the right people come together,” she said.
