CROWD capacity for Awaken has increased.

The City of Greater Bendigo has announced  1500 extra bookings are available, with an extra 500 bookings on Friday and Saturday nights.

City acting director for strategy and growth Andrew Cooney said so far Awaken has been a “huge success” with over 51,000 tickets booked to the free light and sensory experience.

The State Government approved the City’s request to increase the number of people at Rosalind Park.

“Under the initial restrictions the event was booked out for the remaining nights, so many people would have missed out,” he said.

“We are delighted that with the increase in capacity numbers, more people will have the opportunity to see Awakenand we strongly encourage people to book online to avoid disappointment.

“To keep our community safe, new ticket bookings will include a declaration that you have not visited any red zones or public exposure sites that are listed on the Department of Health Victoria website.”

Masks and social distancing is required, and QR Code check-in is mandatory for people over 12 months old with manual check-ins available for people that don’t have a smartphone.

Awaken runs for four hours each night, so there is no need to arrive exactly at 6pm during the week or at 7pm on Friday and Saturday,” Mr Cooney said.

“You can come later to avoid queues and still have plenty of time to enjoy the displays in Rosalind Park and we recommend allowing at least an hour for the full experience.”

Awaken runs until Saturday, 17 July and tickets are available at bit.ly/3yrgCFz.
