More than just some muppet

COMEDIAN Randy Feltface is set to return to regional Victoria with his new show Feltopia.

After an overseas tour that took him to the UK, Europe and the US, the comedian and satirist said he’s thrilled to be back in Australia.

While he said he’s excited to perform his 65-minute show for Australian audiences the real gold nugget for Feltface is the opportunity to lie on the grass in country Victoria.

“I’m a Lancefield boy. Who hasn’t strolled the magical corridors of Lancefield Plaza and felt the warm Kangaroo Flat air on their face?” he said.

Over the span of his 19-year career Feltface has become known for his brand of satire that is silly, challenging, and philosophically contemplative.

“The thing that I love about doing this is that I look dinky on paper, right? So I love it when people see my work, what I do and go ‘oh maybe there’s a little bit more depth to it.’”

His new show Feltopia is a return to narrative comedy with some political angles thrown in.

“It’s a twisty-turny story telling show with the overarching theme that I am quitting comedy and going into politics.

“Because there’s only so much railing against the world you can do with a microphone without you know, putting your money where your mouth is,” he said.

According to the comedian audience members with zero interest in politics can rest-assured that this will not exclude them from enjoying the show.

“Everybody can get something out of this one. Bring your deadshit uncle, he’ll have great time,” he said.

Feltopia will open to a sell-out audience in Bendigo on 21 July at Capitol Theatre and a second show has been added on the same day to accommodate demand.
