THE Women in Super Mother’s Day Classic returns to Bendigo next weekend, celebrating twenty-five years of the fundraising fun run.

Joggers and walkers are invited to cover four or eight kilometres at Beischer Park, Strathdale on Sunday morning, 8 May to generate funds for breast cancer research, and honour those who have lived with the disease.

Mother’s Day Classic CEO Zara Lawless organisers are keen to mark a quarter of a century of operation, having boosted 79 research initiatives with millions of dollars raised along the way.

“We encourage people to be part of this iconic community fun run and walk… It is a fun and inspiring way to spend Mother’s Day with your family and friends,” she said.

“It’s great to be welcoming back our traditional Mother’s Day Classic experiences as we unite in celebration of 25 years of impact with communities right across the nation.

“We encourage participants to head to their locations early so they can soak up the atmosphere, connect with their local community and celebrate this special event with friends and family while raising vital funds for breast cancer research.”

Almost $40 million dollars has been raised by Mother’s Day Classic runners and walkers over the last 25 years.

An average of fifty-five people across Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer each day, and nine die from the disease.

The event will include food stalls, live music, and entertainment.

Register or contribute at mothersdayclassic.com.au and participants can also organise to run or walk the course at another time that suits them.
